Di stile gotico-rinascimentale è datato XIV-XV circa.E' chiamato così perchè ha ospitato spesso il Capitano del lago,personaggio che rappresentava l'autorità di Venezia sul Garda,e che aveva il compito di sorvegliare le acque del lago e evitare il contrabbando.
Der Palast, welcher im gotischen bzw. Stil der Rennaisance erbaut ist, wurde wohl im 14. – 15. Jh. errichtet. Er verdankt seinen Namen den „Kapitänen“, welche die Autorität Veronas am See vertraten und oft den „Palazzo“ als Herberge aufsuchten. Sie hatten die Aufgabe die Wasser des Sees zu überwachen und den Schmuggel zu unterbinden.
