{ Il Beato Andrea }

In Peschiera’s legends we find the Blessed Andrea. Determined to leave his home at young age because his brothers hated him, he went to the lake’s shore and he laid his cloak on the waves. The tradition has it that he got on it, as he would on a boat, sailing off in the direction of Desenzano. Because of this wonder his brothers got converted and called him back. Having subsequently joined the Dominican order, Andrea left Peschiera giving his family his pilgrim’s stick and assured them that that stick would have flowered on the day of his death. This actually happened and now this miracle is portrayed in a painting in the town’s parish church.
