Gargnano

Gargnano
Gargnano is divided into 12 small villages, some of which located by the lake (Villa and Bogliaco), others along gentle slopes (Villavetro, Fornico, Zuino, Naazzo, Musaca, Muslone), and some others inland (Sasso, Liano, Formaga, Costa), but all joined by panoramic roads surrounded by olive trees, loans and woods. The landscape along the lake is characterized by several citrus groves, the lemon groves, which, starting from 1700, were, along with fishing, the village’s the main source of income.
The village has an important boat-building industry as well as several monuments surrounded by a charming landscape, which allows many Mediterranean flowers to bloom. The “Centomiglia” is an important international regatta, which has been taking place every September since 1951. This race has also been named the continuous legend and a sign of love for lake Garda and for sailing. The inland, vast and picturesque, offers to the visitor many choices in hiking, horse riding, mountain biking and driving. There are several hotels and restaurants where the typical local recipes such as meat, fish, corn meal etc can be tasted.
